EICR cost in Blackpool — what should you actually pay?

Prices for an Electrical Installation Condition Report on the Fylde Coast vary wildly. Here's what's fair, what's a rip-off, and what makes the price genuinely go up.

Typical Blackpool EICR prices (2026)

  • 1-bed flat or studio: £90 – £120
  • 2–3 bed terrace or semi: £130 – £170
  • 4-bed detached: £180 – £230
  • HMO (per unit): £150 – £200
  • Small commercial unit: from £250

Very low quotes may cover a narrower scope than expected, while unusually high quotes may reflect access, circuit count or property complexity. Ask what the inspection and report include before comparing prices.

What an EICR actually involves

An EICR combines inspection and testing of the fixed electrical installation using suitable instruments. The scope, limitations and any agreed sampling are recorded in the report. A typical 3-bed inspection may take 2 to 3 hours, depending on access and the number of circuits.

Why your quote might be higher

  • Old fuse box: rewireable fuse boxes take longer to test safely.
  • Boarded lofts and fitted kitchens: harder access to cables and JBs.
  • Lots of circuits: a house with electric heating, EV charger and outbuilding has 12+ circuits vs 6 in a standard semi.

Landlords — the legal bit

Private landlords in England must arrange inspection and testing at least every five years, or sooner if the previous report specifies a shorter interval, and provide the report as required by the regulations. We normally deliver the completed EICR within 48 hours.
